Science

Hair health & hair loss
1. Zinc for hair growth
Zinc plays an essential role in regulating the sebaceous glands surrounding hair follicles. Zinc deficiency can lead to hair loss. A 2014 clinical study showed that zinc supplements are helpful in improving hair loss caused by zinc deficiency. (Karashima et al., 2012)
2. B vitamins for blood circulation and hair follicles
B vitamins promote blood flow to the scalp and supply hair follicles with nutrients necessary for healthy hair growth. A 2018 study showed that B vitamin supplements can improve hair condition when a deficiency exists. ( Almohanna et al., 2018)
3. Nutrient deficiencies and hair loss
A deficiency in iron, zinc, and vitamin D can cause hair loss, as these micronutrients play a key role in the hair growth cycle. Taking targeted supplements can help stop hair loss and promote hair growth. (Guo & Katta, 2017)
4. L-Cysteine to promote hair growth
L-cysteine is an amino acid that plays a crucial role in the formation of keratin, the main component of hair. A study by Plaza et al. (2018) showed that L-cysteine can promote hair growth and slow hair loss.
5. Zinc deficiency and hair loss
Zinc deficiency is associated with hair loss, as zinc is crucial for the formation of keratin and the health of hair roots. A study by Kil, Kim & Kim (2013) examined the connection between zinc deficiency and hair loss.
6. Iron deficiency and hair loss
Iron plays an important role in the hair growth process. Low iron levels can lead to brittle hair and hair loss. A study by Trost, Bergfeld & Calogeras (2006 ) demonstrated a link between iron deficiency and hair loss.
7. Vitamin D and hair loss
Low vitamin D levels can impair hair follicle function and promote hair loss. A study by Saini, Mysore & DipRCPath (2021) showed that vitamin D deficiency is associated with reduced hair follicle function.
Skin health
1. Faster skin healing with OPC grape seed extract
Grape seed extract supports the healing process of skin wounds by stimulating the production of growth factors. Animal studies have shown that OPC can accelerate the healing of skin wounds. (Khanna et al., 2002)
2. Zinc for healthy skin
Zinc is a crucial nutrient for skin regeneration and helps heal skin irritations. It has been shown to be particularly effective in treating acne. (Decker & Graber, 2012)
3. OPC grape seed extract: slows down skin aging
Grape seed extract protects the skin from the harmful effects of UV radiation and slows down skin aging. Clinical studies have shown that OPC protects the skin from UV damage. (Yarovaya et al., 2020)
4. Zinc to support skin health
Zinc has anti-inflammatory properties and promotes the healing of skin blemishes. It contributes to reducing skin inflammation and helps relieve the symptoms of acne. (Verma, Saini & Dhamija, 1980)
Nail health
1. Biotin for nail growth
Biotin, an essential vitamin, is known to support nail growth. A 1993 study showed that biotin is very effective in treating brittle nails. (Floersheim, 1989)
2. Cobalamin (vitamin B12) for the oxygen supply of the nails
Vitamin B12 is important for the production of red blood cells and ensures that the nails receive sufficient oxygen. A deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to discolored nails. (Langan & Zawistoski, 2011)
