Omega-3 and antioxidants for hair loss in women
A 2015 study showed that a 6-month supplementation of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and antioxidants can significantly reduce hair loss in women. After treatment, a significant improvement in hair density was observed, and the percentage of hair loss was significantly reduced. 89.9% of women reported less hair loss, 86.1% noticed an improvement in hair diameter, and 87.3% of women saw an increase in hair density. Omega-3 fatty acids to support skin health
Omega-3 fatty acids (O3FA) show promising effects in inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and acne. A review of 38 studies found that O3FA can reduce skin inflammation, promote wound healing, and potentially reduce the risk of skin cancer. They can also serve as a supportive measure for UV protection and to reduce the side effects of acne therapies. Due to their good tolerability and ease of supplementation, omega-3 is a sensible option for promoting skin health (Thomsen et al., 2020).
